Ranger Rage

The beginning of each chapter in the first part of Black Hawk Down starts with some background info then some action.  I found this to be a little repetitive however it was spiced up a bit with the vivid details of battle.  It was so realistic that I felt as if I was their in the battle myself.  In the first few chapters it was already more violent and gory than A Long Way Gone.  I found it to be a good thing though.  Because it helps to show you at how bad things can get and it doesn't censor it.  I was shocked at how the some of the civilians directly involved themselves in the fights.  Like how they sat on one of the men so the Rangers couldn't kill him.  On a brighter side however I found it hilarious when one of the Skinnies came in riding a cow.  This cracked me up and thought why would you do something so odd and unnecessary. I look forward for more intense action and maybe a laugh or two.

I think the intense action was pretty interesting and helped move the book along a little better. I hope that there will be a few laughs later on in the book too.
